It's potty time!

It's amazing to me the things I get excited about now that I'm a mom. Before I became a mommy, a baby's bathroom behavior really didn't interest me much. I would have laughed at myself as I am now.

Addy came toddling into the living room yesterday frantically pointing at her diaper and saying "diapee" babble babble babble "peepooo" babble babble. It took me a few seconds to realize that she was trying to tell me that she needed to go poo! Even typing this is making me laugh out loud as it's not really something to stop the presses about but I'm SO excited! I grabbed her up and let her know how proud I was of her for telling me. Poor kid was trying to do her business and mommy keeps going on and on and making such a big deal about it. There is no modesty when you are a toddler. I'm not sure if she's ready to start potty training, but it's a start. At least she's aware enough now to let me know what's going on! I'm so proud. :) It just makes me realize how much she's growing into such a little girl and catching on so quickly to her surroundings...plus I can use this post as payback when she's sixteen and acting out. :)

Addy's brilliance

I was having a coversation the other day about babies that are brilliant and know 40 words at 13 months. Addy did not know 40 words at 13 months but it seems in the last couple of months, her vocabulary has exploded. So I started thinking about Addy's vocabulary and realized that I've never really written down how many words she can actually say.

So here is her list of words:

mama<--------obviously my favorite. She has a plush toy makeup compact with a smiley face in the shape of a heart that she affectionately calls "mama". ::swoon::
dada<---the first word she ever said. Jim is so proud
Dut= duck
quack
bubble
dog
ball
mormor= more
moo
peaze= please
tank oo=thank you and her new favorite word which is ridiculously cute and very well mannered. She brought me a book the other day, said "tankoooo" and then threw it at me.
keys
shoes
diaper= this one is new!
appo= apple
Hi
bye
nana=banana
whas dat= what's that
eye which follows with a nice poke in they eye. We are still working on "gentle".
baby
cacko = cracker

and she *may* have said the word "asshole" but I haven't heard it since and I'm seriously hoping it was just gibberish despite the fact that she spoke it plain as day. I need to control my language in the car apparently.

So there it is...proof that she's brilliant. ;)

Stink Eye

Addy has a "stink eye". For those of you not familiar with this look it's a dirty look that you give to someone you don't approve of. It came out in full force this morning.

I dropped her off at school and gave her a book to read which she LOVES. About the same time, a little girl toddled over and took the book from Addy causing her to cry. :( That cry breaks my heart, but she has to learn to share so unlike my mommy's instinct to snatch the book back and give it to my deserving child, I took the book from the little girl and gave them each separate different books to read. The little book stealer joyfully took her book and went to sit down, but my precocious child was not convinced that this new book would be any better than the original book that she had been so excited to read. She went to the reading area, angrily plopped to the floor, and flung the new book to the side. Then she gave the little book stealer sitting across the way the dirtiest most evil little toddler stink eye I have ever seen.

I'm in big trouble when she realizes the power of a dirty look.

Tank Oooo

She's mastered the art of proper manners. LOL. I picked her up from daycare today and when the teacher handed her over to me she says "Tank oooo" We both looked at each other quickly and then at Addy who was beaming oh so proudly. I think even the teachers are amazed at her sometimes because of how quickly she is learning. She's like a little sponge and my bestest buddy.

Wow I'm not a very good blogger. :)

But here are some videos of Addybear! Her cuteness is almost unbearable. Just a warning. :)

Ooooh and more!!

I'm so excited that she's starting to pretend play. It's so sweet! This girl is my life.

She is now 15 months old and has quite a few words in her vocabulary and can understand even more. :) I'm so proud.
